DETAILS:
Obverse: Features the Afghan coat of arms and the denomination "50 Afghanis" with text in Dari and Pashto. This 1991 issue was printed during the Taliban era by Da Afghanistan Bank.
Reverse: Displays the Dar-al-Aman Palace in Kabul, one of Afghanistan's most recognizable landmarks, with decorative border elements and denomination value. The P57b is a later variant of the same design used on the 1979 P57a issue.
The Afghanistan 50 Afghanis (P57b) from 1991 is the Taliban-era variant of this popular Dar-al-Aman Palace design. Collectors often seek both the P57a and P57b together as a matched pair, making this an excellent companion piece. Uncirculated examples from this period are increasingly scarce.
