He led the Bahamas to independence from Britain in 1973 and served as Prime Minister for 25 years. The Central Bank of The Bahamas text and coat of arms appear alongside strong security features including a windowed security thread and watermark.
Reverse: The Royal Bahamas Police Force Band in full ceremonial dress — a uniquely Bahamian scene that captures the island nation's British colonial heritage and vibrant cultural traditions. The turquoise blue tones of the note reflect the famous waters of the Bahamian archipelago.
