Obverse: The coat of arms of the newly independent Republic of Belarus, issued in 1992 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. This is the P1 — the very first banknote denomination issued by the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus, making it a historically significant first issue. Text appears in Belarusian.
Reverse: A Squirrel depicted in a natural forest setting — a charming and distinctive wildlife choice for a national banknote. The entire 1992 Belarusian series features native woodland animals, earning these notes the nickname "Zaichiki" (little hares) among collectors, a reference to the rabbit that appears on the 1 Ruble note of the same series.
