Obverse: Outline map of Burundi with the national coat of arms at centre — a shield bearing a lion's head and crossed spears, with the motto Unité-Travail-Progrès (Unity-Work-Progress). Denomination in French (Dix Francs) and Kirundi (Amafranga Cumi). Date 05-02-2005. Two governor signatures. French and Kirundi text; Banque de la République du Burundi.

Reverse: Intricate guilloche pattern in green with the national motto in both French and Kirundi — Unité-Ubumwe, Travail-Ibikorwa, Progrès-Amajambere. Denomination numerals and rosette designs. French and Kirundi text; Ibanki ya Republika y’Uburundi.
