Eritrea is one of the world's most isolated nations, and its banknotes are correspondingly scarce in collector circles. The Nakfa — named after the town of Nakfa, a symbol of Eritrean resistance — was introduced in 1997 following independence from Ethiopia. This 20 Nakfa note is a rare and fascinating piece from one of Africa's least-known countries.
