DETAILS:

Obverse: Two African Spoonbill birds perched on a branch, with a smaller bird in flight behind them. The Central Bank of The Gambia text and coat of arms appear prominently, along with the denomination in both Latin and Arabic script. A rainbow-coloured security thread runs vertically through the note. Date: 2023. Signatures of the Governor and First Deputy Governor.

Reverse: The Banjul Ferry crossing the Gambia River, a vital transportation link between the capital Banjul and the north bank. The African Spoonbill watermark ghost image appears at right. Green tones dominate the design, reflecting The Gambia's lush landscape and the river that defines the nation.

The Gambia is Africa's smallest mainland country, almost entirely surrounded by Senegal, with the Gambia River as its lifeline. This 2023 note is part of the updated Dalasi series and celebrates the country's rich wildlife and iconic river transport. A colourful and attractive note, perfect for collectors with an interest in African wildlife or West African numismatics.
