Obverse: Portrait of General José María Orellana, President of Guatemala 1921–1926, under whose government the Quetzal currency was created in 1924. A Resplendent Quetzal bird perches on a column at left — the national bird and symbol of liberty. A commemorative centennial medallion reading "1924–2024, Un Siglo Acompañando a Una Nación" (A Century Accompanying a Nation) is prominently displayed. This is a polymer note with transparent security windows.
Reverse: The modern Banco de Guatemala headquarters building in Guatemala City, with the inscription "Cien Años de la Unidad Monetaria Quetzal" (One Hundred Years of the Quetzal Monetary Unit). The Guatemalan flag and Mayan architectural motifs appear alongside the text "Un Siglo Acompañando a Una Nación."
