Features a portrait of Lempira wearing a headband, the Honduran coat of arms, Spanish text and the denomination. Dated 23 January 2003, with the signatures of Mondragón, Pavón and Alvarado.

Reverse:
Features the ruins of the ball court and stairway at Copán, with a carved Mayan monolith at the right and Spanish text identifying the archaeological site.
