DETAILS:

Obverse: Portrait of President Daniel Toroitich arap Moi, Kenya's second president who served from 1978 to 2002. The Central Bank of Kenya text and coat of arms appear alongside the denomination. Dated 1 July 1982. The design features typical security elements of the era including a watermark portrait area and serial numbers in black.

Reverse: A scene depicting Kenyan agricultural and economic life, typical of the Moi-era Kenyan banknote series. The denomination "5 Shillings" appears prominently with decorative patterning and the Central Bank of Kenya text.

The P-19b is part of the Daniel arap Moi signature series issued by the Central Bank of Kenya during the early 1980s. Low-denomination Kenyan shilling notes from this era are increasingly scarce in uncirculated condition, making this a desirable find for collectors of African banknotes or East African numismatics. A crisp, colourful note from a fascinating period in Kenyan history.
