Obverse: Features the iconic statue of A-Ma (Goddess of the Sea), Macau's patron deity and the figure after whom the territory is named. Issued by Banco Nacional Ultramarino, dated August 8, 2005, with bilingual text in Portuguese and Chinese.
Reverse: Depicts the striking modern architecture of the Bank of China building in Macau, representing the territory's blend of Eastern and Western influences following the 1999 handover from Portugal.
This note captures Macau's unique cultural identity — a fusion of Portuguese colonial heritage and Chinese tradition. Printed in warm orange and pink tones with fine guilloche patterns, it remains a favourite among Asian banknote collectors.
