Obverse: Filipino text. Vidal's lanutan (Hibiscus campylosiphon) flower at left. Visayan Leopard Cat featured at centre — a small wild cat endemic to the Visayan islands of the Philippines and classified as vulnerable due to habitat loss. Revised Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas seal featuring a stylized eagle with three stars. Bangko Sentral embroidery design. Signatures of Marcos and Remolona. Printed on Guardian polymer substrate by Note Printing Australia.
Reverse: Philippines map showing Taal Lake, Taal Volcano, and Binintiang Malaki in Batangas. Maliputo fish (Caranx ignobilis) depicted — a species found almost exclusively in Taal Lake. Taal Lake imagery and English and Filipino text. Denomination 50 in numerals.
