Obverse: Features Arabic text and the Dar al-Assad for Culture and Arts (Opera House) in Damascus — one of Syria's most prominent cultural landmarks. A concave hexadecagon serves as a registration device, with the denomination 500 displayed prominently in both Arabic and Western numerals.
Reverse: Depicts four female musicians playing traditional instruments alongside the oldest known musical notation — a remarkable tribute to Syria's ancient musical heritage. English text reads "Central Bank of Syria" and "Five Hundred Syrian Pounds." Features a concave hexadecagon registration device and a 4mm windowed holographic security thread.
Issued by the Central Bank of Syria and printed by Goznak (Russia), this 145 x 65 mm paper note was introduced on 02 July 2014 with Signature 17 (Al-Halqi/Mayaleh). The watermark features an electrotype eagle coat of arms and the numeral 500.
